Westvirjeni Floral Designs

One of my favorite books of all time is The Language of Flowers by Vanessa DiffenBaugh . The story tells of a young woman who created flower arrangements based on the meaning of each flower. Until I read this, I didn’t realize how many flowers had emotional meaning and not all of them are good.

I fell in love with this idea because flowers have the power to transform people and places.

Floral designing is an art and each designer has a unique style that attracts a specific client.

Jennifer Peterson owner of WESTVIRJENI has truly a style of her own. Her floral creations are exotic and luxurious using mainly wildflowers and unique garden flowers.

Jeni started designing flowers five years ago. She created arrangements and bouquets for friends while working full time for Morgan Stanley. Her fame grew quickly and she did not have time to work both jobs. She took the leap of faith into her passion, quit her full time job and in 2017 she designed flowers for thirty weddings!

Jeni’s love and passion for flowers goes beyond designing. She loves gardening and has gorgeous gardens in Shepherdstown West Virginia, where she resides. Jeni grows many of her own flowers but also sources them from around the world depending on the season.

She holds workshops throughout the year and one of her most attended is her Christmas wreath workshop.

Jeni loves to create atmosphere, beauty, and a complete visual experience.

Along with bouquets and arrangements she also designs; arbors, aisles, wearable flowers for wreaths, shoes and clothing. Her designs have gotten much attention and she is now published.  When you view her designs you immediately understand that her brides do not box her in. They give her the freedom and space to create and therefore they get her best work. The combinations of colors, textures and plant variations are exquisite.

I love that Jeni has no exclusivity, meaning, she loves working with large weddings as well as with brides who might be doing a Pop Up Wedding and want just a bouquet.

She travels as a freelance designer and enjoys working with other designers around the globe during her off season here. She works regularly in St. Thomas, Michigan and will travel to any destination.

Her plans for the future are to continue to grow her brand locally, internationally and to have a stronger presence in Loudoun County Virginia. Jeni is available for weddings, showers, dinners or any special event.
